'Hijr' is the name of a own where the people of Prophet Salih (AS) used to live; a community north of Madina on the route to Syria. The sura discusses the false accusations against the Prophet (SAW) and the Qur'an. It provides comfort to the Prophet (SAW) after the death of Khadija (AS) and Abu Talib (AS). The story of the craetion of the human being and the arrogance of Shaytan and his ultimate destiny is told in this sura. There is also a mention of the peopleof Prophets Lut (AS) and Shuayb (AS).
